Building to Attain the Sustainable Development Goals
The SDGuild was created to develop and support implementation of standards that will help attain the SDGs. Specifically standards that are fully interoperable. As an example in the carbon offset and verification space there are standards such: Gold, Verified Carbon, Climate Action Reserve, and many others. The challenges this creates is that all these standards measure things slightly differently, and discuss things using different terminology and taxonomy. This makes it difficult to have a view into a “global baseline.” Having a fully interoperable standard would allow stakeholders to still use whatever standard they prefer, but would then allow everyone to discuss progress and measurement using a common taxonomy.
The SDGuild believes that those building standards shoudl be very cross functional. Youth should be at the forefront supported by Governments, the Private Sector, NGOs, and others.
What are the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)?
The SDGs are an urgent call for action by all countries - developed and developing - in a global partnership. They recognize that ending poverty and other deprivations must go hand-in-hand with strategies that improve health and education, reduce inequality, and spur economic growth – all while tackling climate change and working to preserve our oceans and forests.
